Nassau County Homeowners Large Tax Savings
Nassau County Homeowners Large Tax Savings
News release February 7th 2018 Laura Curran extends deadline for property tax challenge
Hello, homeowners in Nassau County, Long Island, and surrounding towns like New Hyde Park, Franklin Square, Floral Park, Bellerose, and Eastern Nassau County near Farmingdale, Massapequa, Massapequa Park, and Plainview. I’m here to offer some helpful information, not to sell anything; according to the Nassau County website you have from January 2nd to the beginning of March to complete your Nassau County tax appeal. Verify dates towards the end of the year Assessment Review Commission.
Some Nassau County homeowners hire tax grievance companies, and other Nassau County homeowners file the appeal for themselves for FREE. I think the Nassau County grievance companies charge homeowners half of what is saved for the first year. I’m one of the Nassau County Homeowners who filed the appeal independently; I figured it is my line of business, so why not. So far, for the last few times I grieved, I saved; it’s worth a shot.
Although I claim this is my area of expertise, it is the opposite of reducing property evaluations. My primary profession involves advertising, boosting, and selling homes for prices that exceed the market value. See for yourself I’m a highly-rated real estate broker; CLICK HERE to see my reviews. When grieving our taxes through Nassau County Assessment Review Commission, we aim to value our homes for as little as possible.
The following year after I appealed my taxes Nassau County sent me a letter stating I will be saving like 24% on my taxes 2018/2019 taxes which isn’t bad for about 10 minutes of my time…..
So Nassau County Homeowners, here are your options:
- Hire a tax grievance company, and call one of the 100 Nassau County grievance companies that mailed you a letter; they all do the same thing.
- Don’t do anything besides watching your taxes increase every year.
- Appeal your assessment on your own. Do this by following the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission(ARC) website instructions. It’s easy. They have a tutorial and everything(the least nassau county can do with our tax money). If you actually have a question, if you try to call them, they won’t answer but rest assured if you send them an email you will get a response like 10 days later; ok, I’m exaggerating again. It took them exactly five days to get back to me when I had a question last week.
- Your last option, which is in bold because I want you to read it just in case you decide to move, is to call me, John Cordeira (516-526-8077) to sell your home for top dollar. Move to another State or rent locally to avoid paying Long Island property taxes.
- **If you are a new homeowner, don’t forget to file for tax star savings as soon as your transaction closes; here is the link for the Nassau County Star savings form: Click here for Nassau County New York Basic Star exemption form
