This great Waterfront neighborhood Massapequa Shores of Long Island, is located at the West end of Massapequa. The great sub town is a boaters delight because it’s very close to the water. It’s the peninsula South of Merrick road between the Seaford Creek and the Massapequa River. Directly West of the Seaford Creek is where the waterfront homes of Seaford is located. Massapequa Shores is zoned for the Massapequa School District, including Fairfield Elementary, Massapequa Middle, High School, and AMES(9th grade).
Benefits of living near the South Shore of Long Island
Massapequa Shores has two private beach clubs. These exclusive beach clubs are for non-waterfront, nearby residents only. The larger of the two is Dolphin Beach Club and the smaller being Jomarr Beach Club. The Dolphin Beach Club is privately owned and deeded to 169 non-waterfront homes. The Jomarr Beach Club is also privately owned and deeded to only 30 non-waterfront homes.
If you live in Massapequa Shores and are not zoned for either beach club, Jomarr Beach Club, and Dolphin Beach Club there is another local private beach option in Massapequa. The other private beach club option is Green Harbour Beach Club. The Green Harbour Beach Club is a private, membership-only Beach Club available to all residents that are willing to pay the annual fee. There are a number of nice, local amenities, like Restaurant Smuggler Jacks, and one of my favorites, New York Burger Bar on Merrick Road. There are two public parks within this area. The Philip B. Healy Beach at Florence Avenue and I nice waterfront park, Anchor Park.
